Play on Purpose!

Play on purpose with b u b b l e s!

Bubbles are one of my favorite toys (/tools!) to incorporate into play with my little ones, while simultaneously (and often unknowingly for them!) encouraging early speech + language skills! They’re engaging, inexpensive, and so much fun! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Not only do bubbles promote pre-linguistic skills (aka pre-talking skills) like joint attention, eye contact, anticipation, pointing/reaching, turn-taking, facial expressions, and symbolic noises, they also nurture:

πŸ—¨ Oral Motor/Speech: lip rounding (/w/, /u/), air flow, bi-labials (/p/, /b/, /m/)

πŸ—¨ Functional Vocabulary: more, go, stop, up, all done, open, close

πŸ—¨ Describing: big, little, tiny, wet, many, few

πŸ—¨ Expanding + Requesting: more bubbles, my turn, your turn, I want, want more, give me, up high, down low, dip in, blow out, put it in, take it out, all done bubbles

πŸ—¨ Exclamatory/Symbolic Sounds: woah! wow! boom! ready, set...go!, pop!

πŸ—¨ Prepositions: up, down, high, low, in, out, on, off

You can also incorporate singing songs, following directions, wh-questions, hand-eye coordination, etc! The possibilities are truly endless. 😍
