I’m so happy you’ve found yourself here! It feels like just yesterday we began our homeschooling journey. What started from a little girl with a love of learning, has blossomed into our own imperfect + beautiful rhythm. I hope this space is one of encouragement + support, a home that you can find comfort in as you embark on finding your own unique homeschool regimen.
We’re mostly a hybrid between Montessori, Waldorf, + Unschooling, with play-based unit studies and nature at the core. I’m passionate about sharing our experiences with others in hopes that we can help pave the way for a future, rich with life-long learners.

Habitat
“A wholesome education from home, using natural materials, thoughtful and gentle lessons, with no extra prep work needed.”
We started with The Habitat Schoolhouse nearly three years ago — and can’t say enough about it! It’s the main curriculum we use at home, interwoven with other philosophies for learning. Currently, The Habitat Schoolhouse offers resources for preschool (18-36 mo), kindergarten (4-5 yrs), and 1st grade (6-7 yrs), with 2nd grade coming soon! Subject matter includes:
Arts & Culture
Health & Wellness
Language Arts
Math

The Natural
classroom
Nature-based education is an approach to learning that nurtures the whole child through play-based experiences in the natural world. Connecting children with nature fosters curiosity, compassion, self-confidence, and independence. Outdoor "classrooms" (aka “forest schools”) promote imaginative play, multi-sensory experiences, exploration, creating, building, balance and motor skills, and more.
Fully immersive outdoor play develops not only the five senses (hearing, seeing, touching, tasting, and smell) but all eight which include the vestibular system (body movement), proprioception (body awareness), and interoception (condition of the body).
Each of these is needed for young children to thrive.

The Cultured
We came upon The Cultured Kid in our search for a foreign language study (as my daughter was super interested in “es-pan-ol"!). This beautifully curated, meticulously organized program has been the perfect addition to our weekly rhythm.
A blend of songs, games, videos, audio, and activities, The Cultured Kid will get your kids moving to learn a new language in just 5 minutes a day (or one 30-minute block a week)! Language options include: French, Spanish, Italian, German, English, and Chinese Mandarin.
