Let’s Chat Baby Books!
The season of giving is upon us, and I thought it might be helpful to share this with anyone who may be looking for intentional gifts for little ones or even those expecting a little one this time of year.
I recently came across the work of Tabitha Page of @foxhollowstudios and literally love everything she touches -- it's pure gold! Not only is she an author, illustrator, artist, and mother, but she is also a speech pathologist -- a real life superwoman! Her books contain beautiful, detailed illustrations, foundational language concepts, high repetition, vocabulary lists -- even tips for parents!
I also love the Learn to Talk books by Stephanie Cohen of @learntotalkwithme -- another author, mother, and speech pathologist by trade! All of the books have real photographs of little ones that model the correct mouth positions of simple, exclamatory words/symbolic sounds to encourage imitation, and repetitive rhythm and rhyme to help build early language skills!
The See, Touch, Feel book series are great too, as they stimulate exploratory sensory play with large pictures and prompts to get your baby involved and to keep them engaged!
So there you have it, a round up of my favorite books for promoting early language development in babies. Did I miss any of your favorites? Share with us in the comments below!
